The position

 

In your function as MSL you will  enhance the value of company products and reputation through high-quality scientific dialogue conducted on a peer-to-peer level with key specialists. This involves aligning activities with the (Field) Medical Affairs Plan, whereby the MSL shares joint responsibility for achieving both short-term and long-term company objectives. In addition the MSL assumes responsibility for providing appropriate and compliant support for clinical trials, facilitating Investigator Initiated Trials, and managing grant applications and execution. By identifying and fostering networks conducive to effective medical-scientific communication, the MSL contributes to optimizing healthcare in the Breast Cancer domain. 

Your reporting line is directly to the Medical Manager Oncology NL; you will play a pivotal role in advancing medical initiatives within the company's Oncology Business Division. 

 

Key responsibilities

 

• Develops, aligns, and executes a comprehensive Field Medical Engagement Plan in collaboration with the Medical Manager Oncology.

• Identifies and maps qualified key experts and scientific networks internationally, nationally, and regionally based on specific segmentation and profiling criteria.

• Establishes and maintains peer-to-peer relationships with influential figures at major academic institutions, hospitals, and scientific societies.

• Supports speakers and key experts in preparing and delivering presentations and scientific contributions at international and national congresses and scientific events.

• Ensures effective communication of medical value messages regarding Daiichi Sankyo products and therapeutic areas of interest, fostering advocacy for the company's contributions to medical practice.

• Enhances the company's reputation in terms of medical and scientific expertise by actively engaging and cooperating with key experts and influencers.

• Responsively addresses inquiries from key experts and clinicians regarding product use, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations while serving patient needs.

 

Additionally, responsible for developing and implementing medical education programs across the scientific community:

 

• Identifies topics of interest within the scientific community, engaging with collaborative clinical groups to define appropriate medical programs and activities.

• Collaborates effectively with team members to develop supporting content for medical education programs, ensuring scientific validity.

• Conducts scientific education programs in line with corporate requirements and communicates expert opinions on scientific, medical, and regulatory matters through various channels.

• Utilizes digital technologies and new media for proactive and reactive communication.

 

Supports the development and implementation of clinical trials and registries:

 

• Provides local support to clinical studies and registries management by offering scientific consulting services to trial investigators.

• Contributes to Medical Affairs clinical trial activities, collaborating closely with headquarters and contract research organizations (CROs).

• Identifies investigators and sites for interventional and non-interventional clinical studies.

 

Furthermore, contributes to enhancing Daiichi Sankyo's capabilities:

 

• Maintains expertise in relevant clinical information for Daiichi Sankyo brands, competitors, and therapeutic areas.

• Proactively gathers insights into competitor activities and industry trends, leveraging this information to support effective decision-making.

• Supports the affiliate Medical Affairs department in developing tactics for therapeutic areas or brands.

 

Conducts all activities in strict accordance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations:

 

• Adheres to regulations governing relationships with healthcare providers and promptly reports adverse events or quality complaints.

• Ensures all activities and engagements comply with relevant laws, rules, and compliance regulations, with a focus on integrating compliance requirements into scientific activities and programs.

 

Qualifications

 

Education:

• Completed University Master's degree in (Bio)Medical Sciences.

• Possession of an advanced degree in oncology, such as a PhD or PharmD, is advantageous.

• Preference is given to candidates with residency or additional post-doctoral experience in oncology.

 

Experience:

• Demonstrated expertise in Medical Affairs and Oncology.

• Preferably, prior experience as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) or in other roles within Medical Affairs and/or Research and Development (R&D).

 

Language:

• Proficient in both written and spoken Dutch and English.

 

Other Qualifications:

• Proficiency in clinical study management and execution.

• Willingness and capability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

• Advanced communication and presentation skills, adept at facilitating discussions with both small and large groups in an engaging manner.

• Ability to work autonomously, displaying initiative and energy.

• Strong multitasking abilities, adept at prioritizing tasks and working efficiently.
