Country Buyer (m/f/x) France and Canada 

The position

The goal of procurement is to guarantee that Daiichi Sankyo and its affiliates always receive value for money across products and services. Procurement manages the balance between cost, quality, and time. We achieve this by being the trusted business partner of our internal & external stakeholders. Procurement leads and supports all procurement related processes and is responsible for the sourcing process. The Country Buyer will have a key role in supporting operational excellence and the shared service operating model, whilst leading some tactical and strategic initiatives to support procurement transformation. 

 

Roles & responsibilities:

  • Execute sourcing and purchasing activities for country buying activity

  • Manage creation and maintenance of purchase orders

  • Ensure compliance to procurement best practice and policy 

  • Support lead buyers with information relating to strategic sourcing activity (direct and indirect) 

  • Support the wider procurement shared services team as required 

  • Lead sourcing initiatives and ensure vendors meet business needs

  • Negotiate optimal terms and conditions with selected suppliers 

  • Manage vendor relationships for service fulfilment

  • Assure that sourcing activities have been performed as per internal regulations (i.e., compliance checklist) and any gaps are resolved 

  • Support standardization and harmonization of processes and systems to ensure operations in procurement are effective and efficient

  • Participate in the execution of procurement monitoring activities

  • Ensure relevant organization stakeholders are properly trained in understanding operational procurement processes 

  • Contribute to procurement's success with regards to savings, customer satisfaction, risk mitigation and/or fulfilment of defined KPI’s (e.g., ROSMA)

  • Conduct all activities in accordance with Daiichi Sankyo Europe policies and procedures as well as all relevant external regulations 

  • Promote compliance with procurement policy and processes

  • Support of release matrix locally 

 

Professional experience & education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field

  • 5+ years working experience in procurement, sourcing, or purchasing roles. Previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry is a plus 

  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously 

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, SAP MM, eSourcing, Procurement Suites

  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to build effective supplier relationships

  • Able to think critically and challenge the status-quo to pro-actively identify improvement opportunities. Strong problem-solving skills toward solutions

  • Excellent analytical skills, highly reliable and a distinct aptitude to work accurately 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Knowledge of procurement best practices and regulations

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment

  • Result driven, pro-active, and autonomous way of working

  • Fluent in French and English
