We are seeking highly qualified candidates to fill the position:
Director Medical Information Oncology EUCAN (m/f/x)
The Position:
The Director Medical Information Oncology EUCAN leads the Medical Information efforts of DS for its own and partnered products in Europe and Canada. The job holder will ensure the highest standard of customer service where quality of responses and turnaround time are concerned whilst maintaining compliance with DS and potentially relevant partner SOPs. The position holder will ensure collaboration between the DS countries Medical Information services and the region to ensure the above and below deliverables and furthermore also support the Senior Manager Medical Information who is tasked as Information Officer and help them in decision making, cover for absences etc.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Implements the European Oncology Medical Information Plan (including process and implementation plan for European-aligned Medical Information Systems and Services):
- Ensure that all European Oncology medical information functions are capable to provide responses across the therapeutic area, in line with strategy, that the responses are of the highest quality, respond appropriately to HCP and other stakeholder inquiries, and are delivered to the customer in a timely fashion within the agreed turn-around-times.
- Development, approval and sharing of European Standard Response Documents in Oncology
- Support and lead (where instructed) Medical Operations activities in the Medical Affairs department.
- Proactively plans, develops and maintains the European Medical Information System and the reporting thereof:
- Ensure requirements for update of European Medical Information system, based on change in healthcare and technological environment, are taken into consideration and improvements are implemented in cost efficient manner.
- Improve processes, based on analytics on system usage.
- Update existing reports and plan additional reports where required.
- Coordinates and align all MI activities and transfer of knowledge between Daiichi Sankyo Europe and other regions In Oncology and aligns processes with Cardiovascular therapeutic area
- Continue to leverage Medical Information Oncology expertise within the Daiichi Sankyo organization (e.g., sharing response documents with other business units as well as co-promotion/marketing partners) and proactively reach-out to similar medical information functional groups within the corporation to ensure cooperation and minimize redundant efforts.
- Conduct regular trainings on Medical Information processes and content.
- Support and lead the implementation of External and Internal Medical education activities, e.g. symposiums, Continuous Medical Education (CME) programs, MSL training activities, etc.
- Manages and supports the Senior medical manager Medical Information/ Information Officer
- Supports the Information officer in his/her/their task to ensure compliance under AMG 74
- Supports the Information officer as needed in discussions with other reviewers and job owners
- As required e.g. during peak work load and absences , takes a hands-on role in signing off documents
Education & Professional Experience:
- Life science (at least master level) or medical degree with relevant specialist experience
- At least 8 years of relevant experience within the pharmaceutical industry
- Preferably having previous experience as Information officer
- Clinical or Industry experience in Oncology and/or Haematology desirable
- Good knowledge of the European Healthcare systems and drug law
- Proactive, integrative and conceptual personality with leadership skills
- Result oriented and customer focused with the ability to work in a matrix organization and manage interfaces to different stakeholders (internal & external)
- Team player, open-minded, highly motivated
- Strategic mind-set
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work in German and English - fluent German and English in written and spoken
- Technical Expertise in MS Office, experience with Large Language Models a plus
