Purpose of the function
The Medical Information Officer plays a crucial role in supporting both internal and external medical information initiatives. This involves providing accurate and timely responses to unsolicited inquiries, ensuring the scientific integrity and legal accuracy of customer-facing materials, and conducting medical training sessions aligned with the organization's strategic priorities. All activities are performed in accordance with the latest scientific data.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Medical information
Respond to inquiries from healthcare professionals and consumers regarding product information, handling them with accuracy and confidentiality.
Medical information activities include (but are not limited to):
- Answering unsolicited medical requests within the Medical Information System
- Support & training local teams with Medical Information
- Support of local SOP updates/adaptations
- Support & Back-up of the Medical Information Manager in case of audit/inspection
- Medical reviewer
The medical review ensures that (non)-promotional materials are scientifically accurate and comply with the BeLux regulations.
The medical reviewer is responsible of (non-exhaustive list):

- Thorough review of materials: scientific accuracy & legal requirements.
- Support & training local teams with the approval system
- Archive of approved materials
- Support of local SOP updates/adaptations
- Support & Back up of the Medical Information Manager in case of audit/inspection
- Medical training
Train newcomers (medical, sales, marketing, market access) to provide a comprehensive knowledge of Daiichi Sankyo’s products. Medical product training is crucial for maintaining high standards of care, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting the successful commercialization of the product.

- Performing refresher trainings
- Tracking of medical trainings
Identify and report complaints/safety information to the Quality & Pharmacovigilance Departments.
Does the tasks and takes the responsibility as described in the Quality Management System of Daiichi Sankyo Belgium (conform the GDP guidelines).
Professional experience & Education
- Scientific, healthcare or medical degree
- Fluency in French and Dutch and professional knowledge of English
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office

- Service-oriented and helpful with a customer-friendly approach.
- Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills.
- Digital fluency
- Hands-on mindset and ability to work under deadlines.
- Knowledge of and experience with medical information and/or medical affairs is a plus).
