The Medical Affairs Manager Cardiovascular is member of the Daiichi Sankyo Belgium medical affairs department. The Medical Affairs Manager is member of the brand team.


The Medical Affairs Manager Cardiovascular  ensures the medical affairs plan Lixiana is developed and implemented in the field, in line with budget and product strategy. The Medical Affairs Manager Cardiovascular follows the medical aspects of the product lifecycle process : from clinical trials to post-marketing studies.

Plays an important, external-oriented, role in the image building of the company as contributor to advancing medical practice (products, evidence and services) within the scientific community. He/she has peer-to-peer discussions with external medical corps (key opinion leaders, specialists, general practitioners…) and is responsible for the scientific communications.


The Medical Affairs Manager Cardiovascular sets up and implements innovative across and above brand projects, in a hybrid environment and works in close collaboration with colleagues of the team.


Purpose of the job

The Medical Affairs Manager Cardiovascular contributes to Daiichi Sankyo ambition to be a customer- and patient-centric cardiovascular leader, across and above brand.


Result areas

Develops and implements the local customer- and patient-focused medical affairs strategy for Lixiana


  1. Is member of the Medical Affairs department and collaborates closely with sales and marketing via membership of the Lixiana Brand Team.
  2. Develops and implements the local medical affairs strategy for product in line with the DSE strategy, as part of the overall DSBE brand plan and in line with latest scientific information.
  1. Ensures the product medical affairs plan is implemented in line with the budget, elevates deviations to brand team and/or medical director
  2. Has in-depth medical expertise in relevant therapeutic areas (via analysis of EBM, participation to congresses, peer-to-peer discussions with KEEs...), including disease area, product and competitor knowledge.
  3. Sets up long term relationships with KEEs on important scientific topics, enhances company reputation and ensures relevant insights (via peer-to-peer discussions and/or advisory boards) and communicated to the Daiichi Sankyo Belgium organization.
  1. Brings local support to clinical studies and registries in line with the Daiichi Sankyo Europe clinical operations strategy in collaboration with MSL team. Provides support to IITs (new, existing) where needed.
  1. Ensures scientific aspects of the product are adequately communicated to the scientific community via local publications, symposia, customer-facing roles and other channels.
  1. Organize the set-up of educational programs, from capturing customer needs to effective implementation.
  2. Provides scientific support to customer facing functions and conducts internal trainings to keep them updated on clinical data and scientific insights, in collaboration with Medical Information Manager.


Develops  and leads implementation of innovative patient- and customer-centric cardiovascular projects


  1. Provides medical expertise to across and above-brand projects (symposia, material…)
  2. Sets up and leads patient- and customer-centric medical cardiovascular projects, using innovative approaches across and above brand, as DS organized, stand-alone projects and/or in collaboration with scientific societies.


Conducts all activities in accordance with the applicable laws, rules and regulations

Respects the rules governing relationships with Health Care Providers

Acts in compliance with all local laws, rules and regulations



  • Master degree in Pharmaceuticals and Business Degree
  • RIP Accreditation
  • At least 3 years of experience in a Medical department
  • Perfectly trilingual French / Dutch / English
  • Patient oriented
  • Project management competency and able to set priorities
  • People agile and able to collaborate cross-functionally
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Digital minded
