Head (m/f/x) of Global Oncology Medical Affairs Digital Strategy and Innovation
The Position:
The Head of Global Oncology Medical Affairs Digital Strategy and Innovation is responsible for setting the vision and strategy for all digital initiatives within Medical Affairs at Daiichi Sankyo. This includes building and executing the Daiichi Sankyo Medical Affairs Digital Roadmap in collaboration with region and functional leaders. The leader will have oversight of the building and scaling omnichannel engagement capabilities, the development and implementation of the advanced analytics and intelligence function, optimization of technology platforms, and implementation of novel and emerging technologies.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the Global Oncology Medical Affairs Digital and Innovation Vision, Strategy, and Roadmap, including the Medical Affairs digital roadmap
- Lead identification, prioritization, and execution of digital transformation opportunities aligned with the roadmap to build a digitally enabled Medical Affairs organization
- Strategically develop and oversee Global Medical Omnichannel capabilities, collaborating with functions and regions
- Advance data and analytics initiatives, providing oversight to deployed data scientists and the Medical Analytics and Intelligence team
- Drive digital health solutions, real-world evidence generation, and disruptive innovation trends within Medical Affairs
- Oversee maintenance and enhancement of Global Medical Affairs tools and technology, ensuring alignment with digital strategy and coordination with internal digital functions (Commercial, RD, Japan, IT, etc.)
- Serve as a strategic thought partner and represent GOMA on internal digital governance committees
- Monitor external digital innovations and industry best practices to inform and update the digital strategy
- Lead efforts to enhance digital literacy, foster a digital mindset, and champion organizational change to sustain digital capabilities
- Develop and monitor KPIs to assess medical strategy effectiveness, leveraging advanced analytics, AI, and automation for continuous improvement and resource planning
Personal Skills and Professional Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Master's Degree, PharmD or PhD preferred
- 10+ years of experience in pharma/biopharma required
- 7+ years of Medical Affairs experiences required
- Experience in Medical Affairs technology (e.g. CRM, Insights tools) required
- Field Medical experience preferred
- Team/line management required
- Oncology experience preferred
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders in a matrix organization, lead complex projects, solve potential issues, show creativity and an open-minded approach, be results oriented, have strong communication and organizational skills required
