Job Description: 

We're looking for a Head of Medical who will be a member of the DSTR leadership team representing the CV and Oncology Medical organization.

 

Key Responsibilities:

•    Play an active, collaborative and constructive role as a member of the DSTR Leadership Team and implement decisions consistently and compliantly within agreed timescales and budgets
•    Head of Medical is responsible for successful x-functional matrix operations of Medical & Commercial x-functional collaboration in both field and head quarter operations
•    Collaborates with internal stakeholders (R&D, commercial, regional/other affiliate’s medical teams)
•    Oversees effective representation and cooperation with external stakeholders (KEE, patient advocacy and cooperative groups, VIG Medical Directors' platform)
•    In case of media communications, represent DSTR Medical Team
•    Is member of the MidSizedCountries (MSC) Medical Managers team
•    Is the CV and Oncology Medical Affairs leader
•    Is accountable for optimal x-functional development and the implementation of the medical tactics in both the National and Regional plans
•    Provides scientific support to customer facing functions and conducts internal trainings to keep them updated on clinical data and scientific insights
•    Conducts all activities in accordance with the applicable laws, rules and regulations
•    Active leadership in the management of all company partnerships in the alliance
•    Provide leadership and guidance on Country medical strategy/pipeline for launch of new CV and Oncology assets and indications including providing updates and support at Business Review meetings 
•    Lead and develop the CV and Oncology Medical team to develop and ensure delivery of effective operational plans in a way that maximises team efforts and activities and ensures they are directly aligned to Company goals and procedures.
•    Builds a clear sense of vision and support within the team and develops a high-performance culture as measured by team engagement and retention rates. 
•    Coach via 1:1 coaching to drive performance and mentor team members- ensure the team are trained in the effective implementation of Company policy, procedures, product and therapy area knowledge.
•    Determines and drives high standards within the team as evidenced by consistent delivery of high-quality outputs from each team member to time and to budget together with proactively dealing with performance issues.
•    To engage actively with Key Opinion Leaders and industry groups and to support other colleagues when engaging Opinion Leaders as needed including individual meetings, participation at congress and symposia and active participation in Advisory Boards.
•    Demonstrates advanced therapy area and product expertise
•    Able to chair Advisory board meetings to ensure outcomes and objectives are achieved
•     Is able to develop on-going professional relationships with KOLs in the areas of expertise for Daiichi Sankyo Turkey
•    Ensure best practice Pharmacovigilance activities are carried out in DS Turkey

 

Minimum Requirements:

•    More than 10 years of experience in the Medical Function
•    Ability to think, plan and contribute strategically
•    Strong communication and influencing skills – written and verbal
•    Ability to form strong communication networks with key internal and external stakeholders 
•    Previous experience of representing the Medical function up to and including Board level
•    Previous experience of managing medically-qualified staff
•    Proven broad therapeutic experience to include areas of expertise of Daiichi Sankyo (i.e. CV)
•    Proven understanding and application of key pharmacovigilance, regulatory and promotional legislation to ensure effective implementation into company processes    
•    GMC Registered Medic with a minimum of two years clinical experience, or equivalent experience.
