We are searching for a new team member to support our Tissue and Cell Research Center in Martinsried near Munich. The facility is focused on human-tissue based research and cell- and tissue-derived models in the field of cancer research and rare diseases. We are offering a permanent position within our histopathology unit.

Your role in the histopathology team

Being an expert in histopathology you will report to the Director Histopathology and will be involved in:

Quality control of all samples entering the facility

Provide pathological and histopathological expertise to all teams within TCRM but also to all relevant projects

Serve as a core expert in histopathology for all scientists in the facility

Conduction and maintenance of individual projects within TCRM’s research activities with focus on pathology and histopathology

Evaluation of general histopathology and special stains

Evaluation of molecular pathology methods in research setting (immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, in-situ hybridization etc.)

Develop novel methods and approaches to evaluate complex tissue matrices

Participate in establishment of image analysis workflows
Your profile:
- Degree in medicine, veterinary medicine, biology, or similar, with either specialty in pathology or strong track record for equivalent experience (doctoral, master’s degree in the field)
- Experience in a biotech company or pharmaceutical industry is of advantage
- Experience in development, implementation and analysis of molecular pathology techniques
- Experience in immunofluorescence and multiplexing, in particular, is of advantage
- Flexibility to work on multiple projects as a project lead and as a service
- Good organizational and communication skills
- Strong team player
- Knowledge of MS-Office, as well as basic statistics like GraphPad Prism
- English with full working proficiency, German language knowledge is of benefit
- Intercultural competence
