For our Tissue & Cell Research Center in Martinsried, a R&D unit specialized in the use of human tissues and cell-based models for preclinical research, we are seeking highly qualified candidates to fill the position of an

 

Expert in Histopathology (m/f/x)

 

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Design and supervise the performance of translational research projects to explore novel drug targets and biomarkers
  • Scientific guidance of technicians
  • Macroscopic and microscopic characterization of human biospecimens, mainly tumor tissues and leukemic blood
  • Evaluation, interpretation, and presentation of the experimental results of preclinical studies
  • Collaborating with and consulting other research scientists
  • Closely collaborate with scientists of the R&D Headquarters in Japan
  • Introduction of state-of-the-art and innovative technologies
  • Preparation of reports and protocols

 

 

Profile:

  • Doctor’s degree in Medicine, Veterinary Medicine or equivalent qualification
  • Hands-on laboratory experience and broad expertise in histopathological, immuno-histochemical and molecular biological techniques
  • At least 5 years of experience in the histopathological evaluation of tissues and blood, especially in the oncology and immunology fields
  • Strong interest in translational research
  • Strong organizational skills, flexibility and ability to multitask
  • Strong team player, open minded, showing a proactive approach and accountability
  • English skills in written and spoken; effective verbal communication skills in German language desirable
