Compliance Officer (m/f/x)

Policies & Procedures 


The position:

The Compliance Officer (Policies & Procedures) supports the Compliance Management Department to design, develop, implement, and evaluate the Daiichi Sankyo Compliance program and its operational implementation within Daiichi Sanko Europe (DSE) and across Europe. The focus of this role is on self-responsible handling of Compliance relevant policies and procedures throughout their life cycles to prevent and detect violations of applicable law, regulations, rules and ethical standards by employees, agents and others to ensure that corporate processes remain compliant and up to date with external as well as Daiichi Sankyo internal regulatory requirements, primarily in the field of healthcare interaction. In this role, the Compliance Officer has to closely coordinate with other organizational functions such as the Risk & Compliance Project Manager and international and/or cross-functional functions such as the Legal Department.


Key responsibilities:

Policies & Procedures:

  • Continuously assess risk within the organization and identify gaps in process and/or policy
  • Develop new policies and periodically refinde existing ones with a mindset of continuous improvement. Ensure proper role-out and alignment with user audience needs.
  • Work closely with Internal Audit, the Compliance Officer (Awareness & Training) and other functions to ensure the monitoring of the adherence to standards and incorporating standards into training
  • Align with and supervise Daiichi Sankyo's entities across Europe for harmonization of applicable Compliance relevant policies and guidance


Knowledge Management & Communication:

  • Provides advice and support within DSE regarding healthcare compliance environment and address employee concerns or questions on legal compliance
  • Keep abreast of internal standards and business goals as well as laws, regulations and Pharma self-regulatory developments
  • Enhance and further develop compliance tools and job aids (p.e. Q&A-lists), electronic and paper-based, to assist employees across the organization in the field of healthcare compliance


Business Collaboration and Advisory:

  • Support Head of Compliance Europe and Chief Compliance Officer to manage complex and multi-dimensional compliance led pan-European projects. If necessary, also support the Legal Department and/or the Risk & Compliance Project Manager in certain matters
  • Provide guidance in assessing marketing programs, engagement with healthcare professionals and healthcare organizations with regulatory requirements
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in the area of responsibility



  • Support the organization with adherence to the European awareness/training plan
  • Adherence to policies, procedures and other applicable standards but also mindset in the area of healthcare compliance such as payments to HCPs, promotion, medical affairs activities and travel & entertainment


Professional experience and personal skills:

  • University Degree in Economics / Legal
  • Minimum of 2 years professional experience
  • Trained in compliance policies, procedures, standards and obligations, ideally knowledge of the Pharma industry’s standards and regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a matrix structure
  • A team player, open minded, flexible, proactive, motivated and willing to learn and develop
  • High customer service orientation and solutions-driven approach
  • English and German - business fluent, written and spoken as an everyday standard
  • Proven experience in IT tools with high degree of business orientation and MS Office
