Data Analytics Senior Specialist (m/f/x)

Purpose of the function:

As Systems Manager Senior Specialist in the Database Management and Analytics (DBMA) team within Clinical Safety and Pharmacovigilance (CSPV), you will focus on data analysis and global adverse event monitoring using Oracle® Argus and other data sources. You will act as the subject matter expert for our analytic tools, serving as the primary contact for end users regarding tool usage and training. Additionally, you will be responsible for the promotion and customization of our analytic tool, developing processes, and ensuring their effective implementation.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive analysis and implement enhancements to optimize the accuracy, clarity, and effectiveness of existing reports, ensuring they meet organizational standards and objectives.
  • Development of training concepts (incl. video tutorials, Q&A sessions, guidelines, and manuals) addressing end users as well as advanced material for power users.
  • Evaluate and improve current processes, addressing gaps by developing efficient procedures.
  • Establish structure and organization in a dynamic and expanding work environment to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Mentoring and training colleagues within local team and global teams in data retrieval and navigation of the self-service reporting tool from RxLogix PVR/PVC (PVReports/PVCentral).
  • Migrate complex reports from other analytics tools (such as SAS) to PVR/PVC.
  • Knowledge transfer to other regions and liaison with the global team on long-term requirements.

 

Professional and personal requirements:

  • Either Bachelor or Masters-level education in a relevant discipline, or at least five years’ experience in development in analytical tools or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience as a trainer is crucial. (Alternatively: experience in conducting training sessions is needed).
  • Prior experience with a reporting tool is essential; familiarity with PVR/PVC would be a significant asset.
  • Basic experience in working with relational databases (especially safety database) is required.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, SAS, R, Python, DAX, Power Query or any related programming language. 
  • Experience with a visualization tool (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI, Spotfire) is highly advantageous and valued.
  • Knowledge in the field of GxP (GVP) and basic medical knowledge is desirable.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft O365 applications.
  • Flexibility for face to face meetings on site when required
  • Good German and English language skills, both written and verbal.
  • Accuracy, reliability, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and without supervision on complex requests.
  • Ability to work in cross-regional team including colleagues from different working cultures.
  • Ability to work in inter-disciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work under time-pressure.
