Data Platform Architect (m/f/x)


Purpose of the function:

The job holder will strengthens the impact of, and provides recommendations on, business information that will need to be available and shared consistently across the organization through the identification, definition and analysis of how information assets aid strategies and business outcomes. The Data Platform Architect is responsible for discovering the data and analytics requirements for information for all use cases.


Role and responsibilities:

  • Influence information strategy working in close collaboration with Head of Data Excellence and partnering with business units through the rationalization of the information value chain, the Data Platform Architect will provide strategic recommendations to maximize the value of information assets via their creation, access and use
  • Secure data and analytic assets: Collaborating with IT and Business partners on defining, maintaining and safeguarding data analytics related architecture governance; reviewing new and existing project architecture for compliance with architectural vision and roadmap; developing guidance on how to best use data analytics
  • Foster value creation using the organization's data assets, as well as the external data ecosystem. This includes aiding value creation through data exploitation, envisioning data-enabled strategies, as well as enabling all forms of business outcomes through analytics, data and analytics governance   
  • Enable effective data and analytics Infrastructure: Being responsible to design, develop, deploy the best feasible and most cost efficient IT solutions related to organizational data and analytics requirements; formulating rules, principles, standards and guidelines to guide implementation of effective solutions     
  • Use tools such as business information models to provide the organization with a future-state view of the information landscape that is unencumbered by the specific data implementation details imposed by proprietary solutions or technologies. Assist decision design
  • Aid the definition of data classifications and data zoning to allow information assets to be immediately identified and proactively managed as more information becomes federated in a digital economy
  • Aid efforts to improve business performance through enterprise information solutions and capabilities, such as master data management (MDM), metadata management, analytics, content management, data integration             
  • Ensuring data collected in the organization is saved in an easily accessible, secure and cost effective way. This includes development, construction testing and maintenance of data architectures       
  • Drive Automation through effective metadata management: Take responsibility to establish modern tools, techniques and architecture to partially or completely automate the most-common, repeatable and tedious data preparation and integration tasks in order to optimize data handling and quality
  • Manage external vendors, partners and consultants that provide services, ensuring quality, timelines and budgets are met
  • Keep up-to-date with market trends in Analytics and Data technologies and platforms, continuously revaluating and recommending improvements or optimization through new innovations

Professional experience and personal skills:

  • University degree as well as 2 to 5 years of professional experience
  • Ability to analyze very complex situations in unknown environments
  • Be an excellent communicator and collaborator, engaging with multiple technical and business stakeholders and leaders
  • Strong communication, collaboration and presentation skills
  • Good experience of managing relationships with internal business customers
  • Seniority in managing internal and external suppliers
  • Good knowledge of business processes and data needs in an organization
  • Good knowledge of data and analytics tools, processes and data infrastructure
  • Good knowledge of data governance, compliance and security in particular GDPR
  • General knowledge on latest relevant information technology and trends
  • Have excellent understanding of data warehouse methods and procedures and data architectures and technologies
  • Experience of designing and implementing information solutions
