For our Global Project Assurance team in Munich, we are seeking highly qualified candidates to fill the position of
Director Global Program Management (m/f/x)
The position:
In this role, you will lead a team of Global Program & Project Managers driving impactful DX initiatives across key areas such as Functional Units (R&D, Technology, CSPV, QA), Business Units, and Corporate Functions. You’ll ensure the smooth, consistent management of approved Global and Regional IT projects, optimizing resources to deliver strategic outcomes and advance our organization’s digital transformation.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Oversee global and regional programs by assigning Program Managers and Project Managers to initiatives and guiding them to ensure successful delivery
- Develop and manage relationships with external providers to supplement project management resources as needed
- Support Program Managers in structuring programs to align with strategic goals, managing interdependent projects effectively
- Ensure the quality of project management activities, including communication, scheduling, budgeting, scope, and risk management, with regular reporting on progress to stakeholders
- Oversee Project Managers in creating and maintaining project plans, recommending resources, workstream leads, and setting KPIs to track success
- Ensure Project Managers proactively address issues and risks related to scope, budget, and timeline, with clear reporting to stakeholders
- Standardize and continuously improve program and project management frameworks, methodologies, and systems for consistent delivery across projects
Personal skills and professional experience:
- Bachelor's degree required. Completed studies in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is a plus
- Minimum 8 years proven work experience in global program and project management, with experience in leading complex projects and portfolios
- Demonstrated leadership experience with a proven ability to effectively lead and manage a team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment
- Proven track record in establishing and developing a Project Management Office (PMO), with experience in expanding and globalizing its operations to support international projects and initiatives
- Expertise in identifying and managing risks in scope, budget, and timelines, ensuring project objectives are met
- Proven work experienced in creating and refining project and program management methodologies to improve efficiency and standardization
- Experience in pharmaceutical or regulated industries, with certifications like PMP, CSM, CCMP, or Agile (e.g., Scrum) is a plus
- Strong communication skills with proven success in engaging stakeholders at all levels, aligning projects with strategic objectives, and establishing PMO frameworks for consistent delivery
- Advanced proficiency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory; proficiency in German or another European language is a plus
