Director Strategic Projects (m/f/x)

 

 

Purpose of the function:

This function, reporting to the Executive Director Strategic Projects, is responsible for planning, monitoring and managing internal projects from initiation through completion. He/she secures required resources and uses formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, risks and changes. He/she manages projects to ensure on-time completion according to specifications and within budgeted costs/ressources. He/she also establishes a strong interface to business needs, translates the cross-functional requirements into concepts and processes and manages the change process in order to drive faster adaption within organization. The job holder ensures an appropriate stakeholder communication, sets up and maintains a communication plan for all initiatives. He/she thinks and works strategically, is able to steer several projects at the same time und never forgets about interface with other projects. He/she is hands-on, has a driving power, holds threads together, monitors timelines and milestones. We are looking for a person who has a team-first mindset and who is happy to go the extra mile in order to deliver on our promises. The successful candidate seeks for opportunities to refine and improve him/herself and the team around him/her and never loses focus on customer perspective in order to understand the customer needs.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing, planning and/or support of dedicated complex projects pan-european-wide
  • Building up an Project Portfolio Management incl. all relevant management methods
  • Planing, controlling/steering and tracking projects incl. budget to ensure implementation in all European countries
  • Ability to deal with complexity & take into account interdependencies between different projects
  • Ability to set up a project structure, define milestone, review progress with all levels of the organization
  • Visualizing project progress for all relevant stakeholder continuously
  • Sensitivity for change communication & change processes
  • Before project implementation: Provide trainings/workshops (including material) in order to create a common understanding and commitment
  • Manage interfaces to other internal departments (e.g. IT, Finance), with external partners
  • Establish relationship with key internal and external stakeholders, service providers and experts
  • Act as a change agent and make sure that change management, same as for change communication is done in a proper way
  • Manage interfaces with other projects and initiatives
 

Professional experience and skills:

  • University degree and at least two years of working experience
  • Strong PMO know how and experience in change management
  • English level at least C1
  • Strong strategic understanding and grasping content quickly
  • Experience with matrix organizations
  • Experience with European and/or global environment
  • Strong intercultural understanding
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
  • Good mediation and dispute resolution skills
  • Analytical and economical mindset/understanding
  • Advanced MS-Office suite and PMO tools skills
  • (Cross) Industry experience
  • Discrete handling of confidential information
