European Governmental Affairs & Strategic Partnerships Senior Manager (m/f/x)

 

The Position:

The Governmental Affairs & Strategic Partnerships team represents our interests and promotes our goal to become a leading global healthcare company contributing to the sustainable development of society. The Governmental Affairs & Strategic Partnerships Senior Manager co-develops and executes strategic stakeholder management programs and projects on a European and cross-country level. The role incumbent develops as well position papers, contributes to the interactions with efpia and other organizations, and steers external agencies. Managing and building relationships to stakeholders are part of the role. At the same time the Senior Manager takes care for internal alignment and helps to educate internal audiences on important changes in the environment.  
 

Reporting:

Reports to the Head of Governmental Affairs & Strategic Partnerships Europe & Canada

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Supports the execution of the global and regional Governmental Affairs strategy 
  • Develops or participates in the development of strategic stakeholder management programs or projects
  • Drives and monitors the execution of strategic stakeholder management programs or projects on European and cross-country level
  • Works with countries supporting local implementation of projects
  • Analyses and actively follows trends and changes in the political environment and develops position and messaging papers or comments on these for example from efpia
  • Supports preparation and accompaniment of key event participations, speeches and interactions and of DS-representatives who participate in round tables, negotiations or events
  • Builds trustful relationships to stakeholders or institutions 
  • Steers external agencies and monitors their performance  
  • Works close together with Market Access, Communications, Medical and Commercial on interdisciplinary approaches
  • Helps to foster an open and creative engagement and information culture through a coherent approach across the organization

 

Education & Professional Experience:

  • University degree (e.g. master’s degree in politics, Europe, public affairs, legal, journalism, economics, or similar)
  • At least 5 years of demonstrable experience in an PR organization of a company or institution (preferable in the health care sector)
  • Deep understanding of the European political environment
  • Existing own external network advantageous

  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Possesses project management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize and deliver to deadlines and budget
  • Fluently in English (written and spoken)
  • Willingness to travel if required
