For our Legal & Compliance team in our European headquarters in Munich we are seeking highly qualified candidates to fill the position:



Head of Compliance Europe (m/f/x) 


The position:

The job holder is responsible for providing leadership and direct oversight for Daiichi Sankyo compliance program in Europe at regional and affiliate level whilst also being a key contributor in the development of global compliance initiatives. He/She will work closely with a diverse range of relevant stakeholder at Daiichi Sankyo Europe (DSE) and its affiliates. Next to being a true strategic advisor to the business, this role will support the team with operational Compliance relevant matters and is responsible for the budget of DSE Compliance Management Department. The job holder will be member of the DSE Management Team Meeting and the European Leadership Forum.


Key responsibilities:


  • Head and drive the DSE (Commercial) Compliance Committee, helping to set and improve the compliance program for Daiichi Sankyo in Europe
  • Build best-in-class compliance organization to support Daiichi Sankyo's business in Europe, including hiring talented professionals for open positions, and managing that organization to ensure it is performing at the highest level
  • Provide leadership, guidance and support to all levels of area, regional and affiliate management on complex ethics and compliance issues, including compliance risk assessment, trend analysis and best practice recommendations
  • Mentor and coach Compliance Officer in affiliate and/or cluster ensuring they are equipped with the necessary capabilities to be strong strategic advisors for compliance at a local level


Compliance Program:

  • Together with the GC&CCO continuously risk assess the existing compliance program at the DSE headquarters level and at the individual country level and identify and implement measures by which to enhance it, ensuring that all elements of an effective compliance program are being met in the most efficient and effective manner
  • Direct and conduct periodic reviews and updates related to policies and procedures, ensuring clarity, applicability and compliance to DSE standard and external requirements
  • Oversee the tracking and reporting of business data and information as required by law, regulation, or practice to governmental authorities (Sunshine/Transparency)
  • Oversee the development, updating and delivery of DSE's pan-European comprehensive Compliance training program



  • Actively contribute to the further development of global compliance initiatives
  • Provide effective Compliance support, guidance and advice for upcoming product launches and ensure effective implementation of necessary programs and initiatives in line with global, regional and local policies and best practice
  • Provide support to internal investigations as may be necessary and lead and provide guidance on key investigations
  • Help and support DSE Compliance team with clearances of Compliance relevant material and contracts in the healthcare compliance arena
  • Foster regular internal Compliance communication within DSE and the affiliates


Professional experience and personal skills:

  • University degree (or comparable) with minimum 8 years professional experience with, or exposure to business functions in the health care industry such as compliance or legal
  • Familiarity and understanding of FCPA, Sunshine Act, UK Bribery Act
  • Willingness to switch between contributing at a strategic high level while also being responsible for more day to day tasks and show a hands on mentality
  • Excellent business acumen and strong leadership experience with influencing skills
  • Willingness to travel (approx. 20%)
  • Business fluent in English and German and ideally in another European language
  • Exceptionally strong communication skills
  • Possess a good understanding of the different cultural nuances across multiple jurisdictions and regions
