Senior Manager Biostatistics (m/f/x)



Purpose of the function:

The Senior Manager Biostatistics will be responsible for all aspects related to biostatistics support (e.g. study design, SAP, statistical analyses, reporting of results, publications, coordination of CRO regarding statistics, etc.) for projects he/she is assigned to in the following therapeutic areas: CV and oncology. In addition he/she needs to support the development and creation of value dossiers (e.g. AMNOG, NICE) to maximize the success for the Daiichi Sankyo portfolio in terms of Market Access.


Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all biostatistical aspects in projects
    • Planning, set-up, execution, SAP as well as analysis/reporting and publication
    • CRO coordination and oversight in close collaboration with project team(s) and Steering Committees
    • Ensuring timely and accurate completion of biostatistical deliverables (internal tasks or tasks of CROs)
    • Ensuring implementation of high quality, state of the art statistical methodology, efficient working processes
  • Support the development, execution and implementation of the European HEOR strategy
    • Planning, set-up and execution (by job holder or CRO) of additional statistical analyses as needed and requested by HEOR colleagues for national value dossiers
    • Review of value dossiers to ensure proper description of statistical components of the dossier
    • Active participation in meetings with HEOR/HTA authorities
  • Broaden knowledge of statistical methodology in oncology and value dossiers
    • Sharing his/her experience and methodological knowledge internally with biostatistic colleagues and other departments
  • Support other departments (Medical Affairs, Marketing, RWE & Late Phase Clinical Operations) in maximizing the success for the DSE portfolio in terms of Market Access
    • Ensuring proper support to publications and congress activities based on projects he/she is assigned to
    • Representing biostatistics internally and externally to ensure adequate implementation of statistical methodology



  • University degree in Statistics or Mathematics (PhD preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years of demonstrable and relevant experience in a pharmaceutical company and/or CRO
  • Proven experience in supporting late phase projects in oncology and CV area
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborating with HEOR/HTA authorities (e.g. AMNOG, NICE)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Flexible, pro-active, result-oriented and customer-centric mindset
  • Goal-oriented with an effective and efficient working approach
  • Team-player behavior, open-minded, highly motivated
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and projects, to prioritize and deliver to deadlines
  • Fluent in English and German (written and spoken)
  • Excellent programming skills (SAS)
