Senior Manager European Medical Information Oncology (m/f/x)



Purpose of the function:

The Senior Manager European Medical Information Oncology maximizes Daiichi Sankyo‘s value proposition of in-line and pipeline Oncology products through delivery of aligned medical-scientific information and responses to all European stakeholders (DSE, affiliates, as well as license partners). The position serves as Daiichi Sankyo prime contact throughout Europe in a matrix organization to external and internal stakeholders on medical and scientific information and communication related to Daiichi Sankyo’s products within Oncology therapeutic area and ensures that all medical information activities are planned and conducted in an excellent manner in line with Daiichi-Sankyo's Medical Information (MI) strategy.



Role and Responsibilities:


  • Implements the European Oncology Medical Information Plan
    • Ensure that all European Oncology Medical Information functions are capable to provide responses across the therapeutic area, in line with strategy, that the responses are of the highest quality, respond appropriately to HCP and other stakeholder inquiries, and are delivered to the customer in a timely fashion within the agreed turn-around-times
    • Development, approval and sharing of European Standard Response Documents in Oncology
    • Support and lead (where instructed) Medical Operations activities in the Medical Affairs department.
    • Continuous improvement of processes, based on analytics, system usage and user needs
    • Updating existing reports and plan additional reports where required
  • Co-leads European Medical Information Taskforce
    • Continue to leverage Medical Information Oncology expertise within the Daiichi Sankyo organization (e.g., sharing response documents with other business units as well as co-promotion/marketing partners and proactively reach-out to similar Medical Information functional groups within the corporation to ensure mutual cooperation and minimization of redundant efforts.
    • Conduct regular trainings on Medical Information requirements and content
    • Support and lead the implementation of external and internal medical education activities , e.g. symposia, Independent/Continuous Medical Education (IME/CME) programs, MSL training activities, etc.
    • Collection and provision of medical insights gathered from the field
  • Coordinates and aligns all MI activities and transfer of knowledge between Daiichi Sankyo Europe and other regions and cooperations in the oncology therapeutic area (e.g. US, Japan, ASCA, Global)
    • Alignment of content, sharing and updating SRDs across territories for consistant and aligned messaging across the globe
    • Alignment and sharing of MI expertise with other regions in the oncology therapeutic area (e.g. Global, Japan, US, ASCA).
    • Reporting and analytics and exchange of insight data  
  • Congress support
  • Ensure adequate MI Coverage and support at European and (where applicable) Global oncology conferences
  • Ensure appropriate technical requirements are covered.
  • Booth and other medical staff training for MI    

Personal skills and professional experience:

  • Strong scientific background, especially in Oncology therapeutic area. 
  • University degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or Medical Science. PhD or Postdoc experience are a plus.
  • 5-8 years of work experience in Life Science in Roles such as Medical Manager or Medical Advisor and additionally at least 2 years in Medical information or in a similar Medical affairs position.
  • Strong intrapersonal skills, ability to work with people from different cultures and background.
  • Self-starter, hands on mentality, can do attitude.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • English language proficiency. 
  • Additional European language is a plus.
  • IT knowledge on common MS Office tools.
