The Position


The incumbent is accountable for the marketing and commercial field success, sales and field market access, of Enhertu, trastuzumab deruxtecan, our flagship ADC (antibody drug conjugate), first in breast cancer with anticipated additional indications of gastric and non-small cell lung cancer.

In addition, the incumbent is the key counterpart for the AZ Business Unit Lead Oncology in the DS-AZ Enhertu breast cancer alliance. The Finance & Control, Regulatory Affairs and Administration are centralized services with whom the incumbent cooperates to realize his objectives.


Purpose of the job


The primary purpose is to successfully launch Enhertu in the Breast Cancer indication.

Additionally, plan, develop and coordinate all technical, promotional pre-launch and launch activities related to the full multichannel marketing-mix of Enhertu and to ensure correct and effective implementation, in order to achieve annual and long term sales and profit objectives.

In addition, the incumbent leads a team within the Oncology franchise.





  • To design short and long term Marketing, Field Access and Account plans to maximize sales and profit growth and to ensure a proper implementation, monitoring, follow-up and corrective actions of those.
  • To produce the annual development of a strategic plan.
  • To participate in the compilation of the annual budget.
  • To keep marketing expenses within the approved budgets.
  • To ensure that all agreed marketing activities are undertaken in order to meet sales and profit objectives per product as described in the annual marketing plan
  • To organize and maintain efficient data information systems in order to optimize operational efficiency.
  • To maintain the adequate level of product, therapy and disease knowledge.
  • To assist in the evaluation of new business opportunities from a marketing and sales perspective.
  • To drive in-market products through its life cycle.
  • To ensure each new potential indication or product is optimally launched.

  • Strong and extensive experience in Oncology in The Netherlands, preferably sales and marketing.
  • Academic education, MSC, MD, PhD, MBA.
  • Minimum of 8 years Dutch commercial pharma/biotech experience. Preferably EU experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in commercial leadership role leading sales and marketing.
  • Deep knowledge of Dutch oncology healthcare system and account decision making unit dynamics, including pricing, reimbursement, access, protocols and formularies.
  • Analytical skills: identify and communicate key information proactively and timely in high quality
  • Continuously expand strategic and actionable commercial knowledge as well as market knowledge
  • Exhibit and advance knowledge of Dutch national and local hospital health systems and decision making in oncology health care
  • Demonstrate strong project management and leadership skills preferably in the oncology setting and with multifunctional teams
  • Display strong organizational and time management skills, role model for implementation of plans and tasks on commitment in time
  • Display strong customer orientation, is medical-science based and patient minded
  • Anticipate future industry trends and opportunities, proactively and communicate them to management
  • Strong leadership and proven ability to work in a matrix and multicultural organization and strong analytical and synthesizing skills
  • Advanced communication and presentation skills
  • Very good English and MS-Office plus CRM skills
