Roles and responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility and lead sourcing activities in the categories CAPEX (construction, building services, equipment), OPEX (focus on laboratory and factory supplies) and FACILITY Mngt.

  • Ensure competitive bidding and deliver on-time, on-cost and on-quality Procurement results to projects

  • Manage the relationship with suppliers and internal customers, as well as all relevant internal stakeholders (e.g. Legal, PMO)

  • Liaise with internal customers and establish a robust & efficient collaborative working interface

  • Maintain close contact to Operational Procurement for best end2end procurement performance

  • Negotiate individual, project related contracts (HOAI, VOB, BGB) with suppliers, as well as frame contracts where beneficial

  • Develop Procurement Strategies for selected categories and deploy within the region (EU)

  • Analyze spend data, benchmark services and monitor relevant supply markets

  • Monitor performance of key suppliers within projects from a risk management perspective

  • Collaborate with regions and affiliates to deliver Procurement services

  • Contribute to Procurement success with savings, customer satisfaction, risk mitigation or fulfilling defined KPI´s

  • Identify process improvement potential and lead optimization initiatives

  • Maximize utilization of implemented tools and services

  • Respect defined regulatory requirements (e.g. Purchasing Policy, compliance), guidelines and processes

 

 

Personal skills and professional experience:

  • Degree in Engineering (e.g. Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering) or Business Administration

  • Strong expertise and working history (> 10 years) preferred

  • Proven background (5 years +) and experience in Strategic Purchasing

  • Strong negotiation skills combined with contract & legal knowledge

  • Interpersonal and intercultural understanding and customer service orientation

  • Integer team player and reliable partner with very good communication skills and “can do” - attitude

  • Entrepreneurial mindset, open for all business relevant topics and willingness to challenge “as is” - process in order to add value

  • IT Tools: MS Office, SAP MM, eSourcing and affinity to digital tools and IT

  • Good knowledge in managing projects

  • Languages: GE (fluent) + EN (fluent)
