As an Operative Buyer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that we receive optimal value for our products and services. You will drive operational excellence across European countries and Procurement categories, whilst supporting tactical and strategic initiatives to transform Procurement. Our Procurement team is not just about guaranteeing that DSE and its affiliates receive value for money across products and services that are required; it's about transforming the way we partner with the business and contribute to the success of our dynamic organization.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Operational Procurement: Procure goods and services for spend under ownership, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
  • Order Expert: Take the lead in creating and maintaining purchase orders, ensuring seamless operations. Perform order confirmation and secure goods/services are received on time. Promote operational excellence.
  • Procurement ambassador: Partner with departments across Europe to select vendors that answer our business needs.
  • Negotiation steward: Secure optimal terms and conditions for selected suppliers.
  • Relationship Builder: Manage vendor relationships, ensuring goods and service committed to are delivered in accordance to negotiated agreements.
  • Excellence promoter: Act as a shared resource within Procurement, supporting Lead Buyers with sourcing related activities. Activities may include: Collecting documentation, supporting that process compliance is respected, contributing to qualification of preferred suppliers, performing third party due diligence.
  • Compliance Champion: Conduct all activities in accordance with DSE policies and procedures as well as all relevant external regulations (e.g. GxP/ SOX/ Data Protection/ HCP Compliance/ ToV). Minimise use of exceptions and obtain proper approvals when required.
  • Innovation Advocate: Support standardization and harmonization of operations.

 

Personal skills and professional experience:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor degree or vocational business school.
  • Experience: 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in procurement.
  • Personal Attributes: Organized, committed, and excelling at handling multiple priorities.
  • Execution Excellence: Thrive in a fast-paced environment, executing tasks flawlessly under pressure. Highly reliable and a distinct aptitude to work accurately. 
  • Proactive & Results-Driven: Bring a proactive, autonomous, and results-driven mindset to our team.
  • Flexibility Counts: Ready to tackle ad-hoc tasks with a positive attitude and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Team Spirit: Embrace collaboration, possess excellent communication skills, and radiate a positive mindset.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in English (verbal & written)
  • Tech Savvy: Knowledge of Microsoft Office; prior experience with SAP MM, eSourcing, and Procurement Suites is an advantage.
  • Location: Based in the vibrant surroundings of Pfaffenhofen.
