Process simulation

 

 

Effective date:

  • 1st of December 2018 or as soon as possible - thereafter for a period of 3 years

  • In close proximity and excellent connection to Munich

 

Your profile:

  • Highly motivated candidates to do their Ph.D. under industry-university collaboration on fundamental research about pharmaceutical powders handling
  • Strong interest in simulation methods like CFD, DEM, FEM and knowledge in statistical tools (e.g. JMP) for design of experiments, data evaluation
  • Ideally some theoretical and/or practical knowledge of tablet manufacturing
  • Applicants should hold a Master of Science degree in Pharmaceutical Technology / Engineering or Engineering in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or an equivalent background
  • Strong interest in working in a cross-disciplinary international environment requires good communication skills in written and spoken English, communication skills in German are helpful but not a prerequisite
  • Applicants should strive towards scientific excellence, be ambitious and reliable

 

Research topic and key responsibilities:

Experimental and numerical investigation of different tableting unit operations aiming to address the challenges that arise within formulation development, scale up and production

  • Learning and implementing state-of-art innovative experimental and simulation techniques related to various tableting unit operations
  • Characterization of powders to measure various micro- and macroscopic properties
  • Performing numerical simulations based on the fundamentals to address the challenge(s) related to one or several tableting unit operations
  • Conducting experiments on lab-scale and pilot-scale machines as well as custom designed instruments
  • In depth results evaluation with statistical tools, and finding the cause(s) that help(s) in addressing the challenge(s) followed by publishing within performance of reports and presentations, research articles, scientific publications, on internal and external national and international scientific platforms

 

Renumeration:

  • Based on the TV-L statutory salary scale according to collaboration university
