Hours:        Office based role, with some flexibility to work from home.


Purpose:    The responsibilities involves contributing to the development and execution of all aspects of an effective compliance program, in particular, supporting the annual public disclosure obligations, developing and executing the monitoring programme, supporting Compliance training and culture building and providing Compliance support and advice to the business. 

 

Accountabilities / Measures:

1.    Ensure the accurate and timely provision of data for public disclosure payments in accordance with ABPI Code of Practice requirements.

•    Data validation: Work with local, and European partners to coordinate and complete data checks in a timely manner. Incorporate data checks as part of the Transfers of Value monitoring program.
•    Query management: Resolve objection requests from health professionals, healthcare organisations, and other third parties.
•    External collaborations: Optimally engage with ABPI partners, attending working group meetings, sharing feedback and seeking clarity as appropriate. 
•    Work closely with internal stakeholders and third party agencies to ensure that the processes in place to collect indirect transfers of value are working as intended.
•    Internal communications: Effectively train and communicate changes and updates that impact reporting.
•    Innovation: Identify and implement process improvements to simplify Transfer of Value reporting and address changes in reporting requirements.
•    Update Methodological Notes on an annual basis, as needed.

 

2.    Conduct quarterly monitoring to enhance understanding of business activities, identify training needs and improvements in policies and processes. 

•    Primary responsibility for developing and executing monitoring activities for DSUK.
•    Drive the timely development and implementation of ongoing enhancements to the monitoring programme.
•    Collaborate with Department Heads and Managers to capture all relevant information from current systems (IT, SAP, CRM, and VVPM) to facilitate the data collection exercise for quarterly monitoring.
•    Capture and report findings obtained through monitoring, highlighting results, red flags and mitigation steps. Assist with communication and remediation actions. 
•    Partner with external ABPI partners and internal business functions to understand new and emerging business trends to assess their impact on the enhancement of the monitoring programme. 

 

3.    Written Standards 

•    Advise and support the development of SOPs and coordinate the implementation of policies and procedures at department level.

 

4.    Training and Education / Communication

•    Contribute to the development of the compliance communication and training strategy of DSUK and ad-hoc implementation to fully embed the desired compliance culture
•    Recommend and take initiatives to promote the compliance culture and speak-up throughout the business.
•    Implement new hires training and support the development of new compliance training initiatives.
•    Coordinate with Quality Assurance to ensure that the training matrix for the Ethics and Compliance SOPs is maintained and updated.
•    Ensure relevant training content is up-to-date.


5.    Compliance Advisory Services / Business Investigations Support / Contracts

•    Provide compliance advice to stakeholders in UK and affiliated Daiichi Sankyo companies to support the compliant execution of business activities and engagements. 
•    Support the Compliance Champions network in terms of advice, and intelligence gathering around process improvements, and potential new risks.
•    Support the DSUK investigations process, as required.
•    Conducting gap-analysis to ensure DSUK has an appropriate suite of legal contracts to support business activities. 


Technical/Professional knowledge

Essential 

•    Compliance experience ideally within Life Sciences/Pharmaceuticals/Healthcare in the UK.
•    Some experience of Disclosure Reporting and executing monitoring programs. 
•    Experience of the analysis of data in order to identify trends and red-flags in order to suggest improvements to SOP’s. 
•    Highly detail oriented. 
•    A high level of computer literacy and ability to work with outputs from systems including SAP, CRM, 
•    Knowledge of the ABPI Code of Practice and its practical application. 
•    Experience of assessing complex business situations and providing advice to enable the business to operate compliantly.
•    Highly effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop relationships across different functions and levels within the organization. 
•    Ability to project manage multiple activities.
•    Willingness to participate in pan-European projects as requested. 
•    Educated to Degree level or equivalent business experience.

 

Desirable
•    At least 3 years compliance experience Life Sciences/Pharmaceuticals/Healthcare in the UK.
•    Ability to comprehend and interpret legal documents would be an advantage.
•    Certified Compliance Professional.
